〈Summer Course〉

Participating Universities: Hiroshima University (Japan), Ca’ Foscari University of Venice (Italy), World Maritime University (Sweden), University of the Basque Country (Spain), Leipzig University (Germany)

Date: August 19 (Tue) – September 3 (Wed), 2025 (16 days)

Venue: Hiroshima University, Higashi-Hiroshima Campus

Theme: Application of AI in the Maritime and Ocean Fields between Japan and Europe

Contents: Through lectures and visits to relevant organizations and companies, participants deepened their understanding of the use of AI and big data in the maritime and oceanic sectors. Furthermore, with the cooperation of Kure City, they worked in Japan-Europe mixed teams to develop and present business models addressing regional challenges in fisheries and tourism. Through these practical activities, participants not only enhanced their AI literacy but also cultivated important skills such as international collaboration and cross-cultural understanding, making this a highly valuable learning experience.
