The seminar introduced methods for acquiring, processing, and utilizing marine and maritime data for ship navigation support, weather and ocean forecasting, and minimizing environmental impact, illustrated with the latest research examples using AIS and machine learning. In the final session, participants were divided into two groups to discuss the following topics:
・ How will big data transform traditional navigation?
・ What roles can AI and machine learning play in ship operations?
・ How can safety and environmental performance be achieved simultaneously?
Students engaged actively in group discussions, gaining foundational knowledge of smart shipping while developing communication skills to collaborate with peers from different countries and regions.
All participants who completed the seminar were awarded a digital badge.
