This project aims to develop English-language educational content that provides a comprehensive introduction to maritime education. The content will be made available globally as a course on Japan’s JV-Campus (Japan Virtual Campus).
The course package will include one foundational course and one specialized course, primarily supporting the development of high-level professionals, including maritime and marine engineers, students, and government officials responsible for maritime security and policy in ASEAN countries.
“Japan-U.S. Global Human Resources Development Program to Open Up the Future in the AI Era” (currently in progress)

Fostering globally-minded professionals who will shape a society that coexists with AI” who will gradually acquire internationally accepted high-level AI, information, and data literacy, and who will lead international discussions on the use of AI. We aim to In collaboration with three US universities that lead the world in digital human resources education, the University of Texas at Austin, Arizona State University, and Purdue University, we offer four-step step-up international education: COIL-type learning, international co-creation workshops, study abroad exchanges, and internships.・Through exchanges, participating students will acquire the “knowledge, skills, and experience” necessary to become human resources who can play an active role in global society.

Agile Entrepreneurship Development Program through International Collaborative Learning

University of Sheffield (UK), University of New South Wales (Australia), Bitts Pilani University (India), and IIMB, which have excellent educational records and cutting-edge business schools, as well as diverse schools that are responding to the challenges faced by human society in the VUCA era. We will develop and implement an agile education program to develop leaders with agile entrepreneurship who propose and lead the implementation of solutions based on gender. In addition, for this project, our university will serve as the “Coordinating University” to collaborate with the selected universities. We will work to create opportunities for collaboration across all 14 projects adopted in the same year, promote the dissemination of project outcomes, and facilitate the broader application and expansion of these results.

“Development of international collaborative human resources in Asia to foster an inclusive mindset” (currently in progress)

Based on exchanges between Beijing Normal University, Changchun University, and Korea University of Foreign Studies in China, and with the addition of Indonesian University of Education and Kasetsart University in Thailand, this is a hybrid collaboration that combines face-to-face, synchronous online, and asynchronous online. This is a model-based international collaborative human resource development program for the Asian region. By recognizing the communication barriers that arise from differences in the presence or absence of disabilities, views on peace, religion, and gender/minority views, we develop human resources capable of managing diversity and inclusion (D&I).

“Triangle Overseas Study Program to Build Mutually Beneficial Partnerships with North and South Africa” (currently in progress)

Our university collaborates with five universities in North Africa and two universities in the Sub-Saharan region to build the “Triangle Overseas Study Program,” which focuses on areas such as “education,” “health care,” and “food security,” where the needs of Africa and our seeds and strengths intersect. This is a student exchange program centered on specialized education. In addition to leading high-quality economic development, we will foster high-level global human resources in both Japan and Africa who can act as bridges not only between Japan and Africa but also between diverse African regions, and demonstrate leadership in multilateral international cooperation.

We will bring innovative technology to society through the implementation of the Japan-India Educational Exchange Package, targeting the three areas of high priority between Japan and India: smart infrastructure development, new energy, and environmental sustainability, as well as their combined technology fields. This is to train highly innovative human resources who will implement the technology. In addition, we will continue to coordinate with six partner universities in India, guide technology development in line with regional issues, and build an International Linkage Degree Program (ILDP) to cultivate leaders who can become established in society.

“A core human resources education program that contributes to peacebuilding through joint economic development and the establishment of trusting relationships in Asia” Chulalongkorn University and Kasetsart University in Thailand, as well as Bandung Institute of Technology in Indonesia, serve as exchange universities to provide academic content that meets local needs. In Asia, which is experiencing remarkable economic growth, we will create a place to learn the spirit and methods of tackling common issues such as conflicts, disasters, poverty, discrimination, and disease, and foster the next generation of leaders. Four graduate schools in Japan have formed a consortium and signed an agreement with six graduate schools in Southeast Asia, including credit transfer, to offer short-term programs and semester programs with priority areas of peacebuilding, peaceful coexistence, social development, multicultural coexistence, and health development.
